The Fishscale pattern is exactly as named, consisting of repeated rows of scales in so many styles, colors and texture. This design was originally used as the roofing cladding for the small sun awnings over tropical style bungalows typical of the Australian and Pacific region from the 1930’s and was one of the earliest pressed metal designs stamped into galvanised iron. Now it has been used in so many colorful and fabulous ways! Full walls of fish scales gives a dramatic textured look that can look both elegant and fun!! I think its going to be the next big thing in home decor. So get those DIY art projects going!
